7190 Anais Nin

Found this quote from Anais Nin…

“Anxiety is love’s greatest killer. It makes others feel as you might when a drowning man holds on to you.
You want to save him, but you know he will strangle you with his panic.” — Anais Nin

I have some thoughts about why some of us are so afraid about loving? Why we get panic? Why we get so scared about the feelings as it feels as if we are suffocating
I smile because I have been there….
Love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this!

This poem by Mary Oliver is one of my all time favorite poems that I read over and over and never fails to shake me to my core. We are all on our own unique journey and we may get encouragement and support from other’s along the way. But it is that small voice within that will lead you where you need to go.  We may not be sure where the voice will lead us, but when we are willing “to save the one life you could save,” we are holding firm to the most sobering truth of all: no one can walk our path for us, and we cannot walk the journey for another.

“One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began, though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice –

though the whole house began to tremble and you felt the old tug at your ankles.
“Mend my life!”each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do, though the wind pried with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations, though their melancholy was terrible.
It was already late enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen branches and stones.
But little by little, as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own,
that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world,
determined to do the only thing you could do–

determined to save
the only life you could save.”
